Simpson Speedway Farewells Season on Sunday Afternoon

RACE FANS can help farewell one of the busiest seasons at Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway this Sunday afternoon.

With a season that began way back in early December 2021 the club culminates with the seventh and final round of the C&H Trucking Sprintcar series.

So, where’s things at with this tournament and who might emerge on top after Simpson and be crowned the champion?

A perfect score on a race night is 430 points. This breaks down to 120 attendance points, 110 heat race points for winning both races and 200 for winning the feature.

Ballarat’s Sam Wren (1305) leads by 228 points, so he can still be beaten but, if he has a strong night at Avalon Raceway on Saturday night he just needs to turn up at Simpson and he wins.

Sam Wren is the 2022 C&H Trucking Series leader

Those closest to him are Andy Hibbert (1073) and Matthew Reed (1033) and need to be precise to keep the pressure on Wren to cause an upset.

Of the 25 entries, others in the mix for honours on the day include former national champion Brett Milburn and multiple class racer Domain Ramsay while youngsters Kyle Mayson and Jett Bell could be two to keep an eye on.

The Speedcars will compete in their Salute to the ANZAC’s and have 14 cars ready for battle. An interesting watch will be Portland’s Luke Storer who is a regular in the Wingless Sprints. He will be against seasoned campaigners Travis Mills, Nick Parker, and Andy Pearce.
