ANNUAL PRESTIGE ON THE LINE AT SIMPSON
THE stacked racing card at Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway will feature two of the club’s most prestigious annual races this Saturday night all presented by Colac Wreckers.
The 45th running of the Trevor Podger Memorial for Super Rods and SDAV Hotrod drivers will headline the race meeting along with the 15th running of the Front Row Challenge for Wingless Sprints.
A stout field of 17 cars has nominated for the annual Memorial race and past winners that include eight-time champion Shaun Walsh, 2021 winner Neville Gange, Jamie May, and Michael Coad mostly in cars that are powered by 350 Chevrolet engines and feature unique car bodies such as Fiat, Mini, Niki VW, Daihatsu, Barina and Ford Prefect.
The Front Row Challenge boasts 40 cars and has four previous race winners in the field including Harry Ross, Mick Rigby, Sam Wren, and three-time winner Luke Weel all keen to add to their racing resumes.
Also on the busy program of racing is the sixth round of the Southern Speedcar Tour and a feature race for the VSC Unlimited Sedans with handy fields for both classes, set to complete another busy night of action for the popular Victorian venue.
Gates open at 4pm and racing from 6pm.
